You cant get any better then Tal-Uno-LX.
+1

but also in Tal Mod you can rebuild the juno 106 and jx-3p

Free options for (approximating) the Juno 60/106:

TAL-UNO-62

Synthescience - Poly 2106 (tiny interface, 32-bit)
https://www.kvraudio.com/product/poly-2 ... thescience

Since these are not complicated synths, many synths can be used to emulate them. Though they (like all synths) have their own unique character. And then there is the Chorus...

TAL-Chorus (the chorus unit from the TAL-UNO-LX)

The Alpha Juno is a quite different synth. A free option:

Phuturatone - Phutura

I assume you replied to what i said about the mid-sweep

But yeah, that filtering you hear in those tracks is done that way : mid-boost and then sweep the frequency. Usually it took several takes to get it right, because it's old-fashioned handy work.

You can emulate it by automating a mid sweep on an analog style emulation eq. There are synths with build-in eq that let you automate it with modulation wheel for example.
More BPM please

I saw Kwurqx mentioned TAL-Chorus (the chorus unit from the TAL-UNO-LX). Some time ago i checked it against one in Roland cloud juno and it sounds quite different, it really lacks clarity.

OSL Chorus felt being quite close to Roland Cloud one, wich is also newer then Tals wich explains why it might sound closer to RC and better: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... us&id=2735

This is a good example of mid-sweeping a Juno, from 1992 :

Nothing but Alpha Juno and some eq, the filter of the Juno itself is not even in use.

my brother had both (first a 60, then a 106). he was so disappointed in the 106; had some new features, but the sound... it lacked the depth, the fullness of the 60 (and i think lost pulse width modulation?). the 60 was a great synth.

Right. Uno-LX is a Juno-60 emulation, not Juno-106 emu. I you want to know how good emulation Uno-LX is, compare it to the correct synth. Or enjoy as it, regardless.

I love that sound. I need to work out what plugins will emulate the desk eq for those filter sweeps.

Good tune by the way!

The 60 and 106 are exactly the same synth though isnt it? One of them are without the arpeggiator if i recall correctly.
The 106 has a bass boost when hp is set to zero , amongst other things
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

About the Chorus. You can try to emulate it in various ways with the Juno 60 Chorus analysis info below.

NI Choral can do a good Juno chorus. I used to use the Tal chorus but not sure I need it anymore.

Yeah, unfortunately there are no desk eq emulations of cheaper Mackie and Behringer mixers :) (which were mostly used back in the days)
But you can get good results with both Neve and SSL eq emu's. As long as they have at least one sweepable mid band.
