It helps that a small business focussed on Eurorack looks to be exiting the business world. I scored the Rossum Electro gear plus a few others at fairly low prices. I’d have been silly not to take advantage of that. I also keep an eye on Reverb for items of interest. I wanted the Assimil8or for percussion duties (which it fulfills admirably) rather than waste space on dedicated drum modules that have a particular sound.
Unfortunately, I know me. This thing will get huge over time. I have an addictive personality but I don’t drink anything but coffee, hardly ever go ‘out’ and only take drugs which are prescribed. My guitar collection is stagnating at around 50 and I’m not sure what those zebra crossing things are about on keyboards. Sometimes I wish I’d develop an interest in harmonicas, stamps or little round pebbles that just lie around waiting to be claimed. No chance.
I get that... my passion was old sound gear.. I had quiet a few "vintage" bits and pieces...
2 divorces and lots of moves have meant most is sold... still got my Neuman km54 though
but 50 gtrs... man, that's like a one a week harlem...
btw.. I got a couple of almost round pebbles... no use to me any more, if you want to start a collection.

I am definitely going to get at least a small 5U system going at some point. I'd likejacqueslacouth wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 6:13 pm I have started looking at Synthesizers.com again....This is a worrying development!
a 500 series effects rack as well. Might take me a while, but not unlikely over the next
couple years.

I got a cheap Motif ES rack last week. Still some good sounds in there although the editing is painful! Drums and rhodes are great and very Yamaha'esque. I was happy to realize that the USB-Midi works on a windows 10 PC despite being from 2003.
For the right price, the Motif is still worth getting

...can't say why I've wanted a mahogany-top dreadnought instrument - so I found a vintage 1980's Alvarez cheap
added some nice tuners, bridge, sexy zebrawood pins and a setup from my tech and voila :
I find it brighter-sounding than I expected but that's not a bad thing as I don't gig out. This is strictly for the studio

Looks good that Mr N...
Anyway, not bought anything for a while apart from one of these;
https://reverb.com/item/5304200-lindo-z ... atic-tuner
£249 new, got it for £100 on the ebay. Different sound to my other 12 string - brighter and cuts through, they seems to work nicely together. Crazy looking thing for an acoustic!
Also;
Pop it under the strings on the bass at the bridge - fake James Jamerson..

I read an interview with Wayne Hussey where he said that he started using 12 strings because if you broke one of the strings you could always carry on with the other paired one.
