Here's a simple track I've put together quite a while ago:
https://soundcloud.com/tomx2188/parsec
Does anyone know what genre this is? Or any keywords that could help me find similar stuff?
Also any other kind of feedback is of course appreciated
Enjoy! (hopefully)

My Feedback
Music - 5
Instruments - 8
Performance - 7
Mix - 8
Overall - 7
Comments: It's some sub genre of minimalist/ambient. Start there. You'll probably find something similar. Musically, not much to this. It's basically an arp played on loop with some additional sounds coming in and going out. Mix is decent. Performance is okay I guess. The synths sound ordinary but they get the job done. All in all, pretty average track but not horrible by any stretch. Could have been improved by simply adding a little complexity.

Ambient , chillout and maybe even borderlines on trance.

The arpeggio should be more in the background and I think it could use more development.
This sounded like a cross between Kraftwerk(Endless,Endless?) and Tangerine Dream style. Pretty retro.

Doesn’t matter what genre this sounds good to me although it’s not the most original line.
I’m sure this is not final ?

You've accidentally remade Tangerine Dream's Love On a Real Train !
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjPGmSqadxM
which begot Global Communication's 8:07
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFx-Rx6PfCw
(I love both tracks however, so another is always a good thing!)
I *think* the subgenre it's nearest to is Berlin-School: https://www.discogs.com/style/berlin-school

Thanks a lot for your replies!
And thanks for the references to other artists, there's definitely some interesting stuff I can learn from.
Especially Tangerine Dream ... it's funny because I had heard of them before, but never really bothered to actually listen. I enjoyed it! My track does indeed have a similar vibe.
As for the feedback regarding my track not feeling final or lacking complexity, it's highly appreciated.
I'd have called the track final, but I have to admit it's probably due to a lack of imagination where to go next. Maybe also mixed with a little bit of laziness ^^
Kinda shows that the creative side of things is what I struggle with the most, I guess.

TD were the first thing to come to mind with the arps here too. I like this kind of thing myself.
Voted KVR's resident drunk Robert Smith impersonator (thanks Frantz!)

You could definitely pop it in the Berlin School space (Tangerine Dream, Michael Hoenig, Adelbert Von Deyen) or even Space Music.
I liked what was there but it seems like a fragment, it was starting to get into the swing but finished instead of letting the melody and overall themes develop.
I work in a similar space. Don't let people discourage you (by telling you you are out of date, cheesy, not EDM enough etc) if this is the music you feel in your soul.

Or it could be the first minute in one of those Klaus Schultze 20-minutes-plus pieces.fastlanephil wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 10:55 pm The arpeggio should be more in the background and I think it could use more development.

In other words: sounds nice, but it doesn't fill me up.
