HI everybody
I am going to build a new musicmaking computer. And please help me.
1. Getting a I7 processor. Will there be any good in getting one with 12 cernals?
2. Think I will use max 25 tracks. Will 16 gb be enough ram?

Now use window 10 and cubase artist 10

Thank full for any help.

that depends.... if you use kontakt with large libraries you could even need more than 16 GB of RAM.
Do you use cpu heavy plugins like Diva or Repro? A CPU with >= 8 cores sure helps....
I'm in the same situation of planning to get a new pc slowly.

Thanks dune. At this time I use some heavy plugs. But I am thinking that this
time no more time delay or cracklings. Also going to be getting Kontakt.

I'd recommend 32GB, 16GB can get tight at times if you multitask.
Roland FP-90 - Touchkeys - NS Wav5C Electric Cello - TEC BC - MIDI Expression
Kontakt - Arturia Piano V - Sonivox Eighty-Eight - Spitfire Symphony Orchestra

Thanks puremusic. Will consider it.

I run a 2500K with 12GB RAM on my desktop build. The worst that happens is I have to turn off ASIO mid song to have it jump to ~12%.

Save some money and get an AMD Ryzen 3 for the same performance. Then get something else with the extra $100 ...

This.

My last build was a Ryzen 1700x and I've been really happy with it. Going to upgrade at some point next year when pricing is a little more sensible.

Intel are not currently on my radar after the launch of the Ryzen 3000s. These are exciting times for computing again so I hope that Intel fight back hard!

thanks to you all

What is your budget?

Lets say 1000 dollars. and already have a ssd 1000gb with window 10 and my music softwares

Well.. I have 3,4Ghz i5 with 8GB of ram and it's enough for most duties and I very rarely need to bounce anything. So i7 with 16 or 32GB of ram will be enough. It won't probably even take that full 1k of hard earned money to build such rig these days.

KONTAKT with big orchestral libraries will benefit from
32GB, for the rest 16GB is probably fine.

A starting point with some builds for you to edit as see fit:

Intel build https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/mRPxyX
AMD build https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/cffrzY

For the AMD better wait a bit for the BIOS to mature, still beta

By the time the BIOS is ok you may have option to buy the
B450 Tomahawk Max and will probably be a bit less expensive.

For the Intel build you can add a Thunderbolt card later, but
for the AMD you have to go for some ASRock x570 models.

Thanks. I think a will get some Razon processor. And I still havent
gotten any Kontakt. So will probably get 16gb.

One last question, I also watch ishokey, football and movies. Do I need a wideo
card?
