I uploaded a couple of tunes on Choon, a cryptocurrency-based music streaming website. All the tracks are in the vein of Boards of Canada, Bibio, Coppice Halifax, and Tycho.

If you do a similar style of music, I want to create playlists in the genre. So don't hesitate to share your Choon account here if you fit and you'll probably be featured in one of my upcoming playlists.

This stuff is so far up my street it's moved into my front room and is drinking my beer. Nice one.
Yeah I def get that. I once listened to only BOC for about a year straight. Those tunes touched me...orange. Your tracks have the same feel for sure. A more modern take...a cleaner production but with the same emotion.

BOC hasn't put out any stuff in a while so I remember wanting it more from somewhere. Tycho was close but got old fast. :tu:

Wait, these "Notes" convert to some kind of money?

My kind of music, glad someone's picked up the torch.
A well-behaved signature.

Yeah, in theory, it should be tradable for money once converted to Bitcoins. Basically:

Notes -> Bitcoins -> any FIATs

It's the same principle with Steemit, a website where you can share anything and earn "STEEM":

https://steemit.com/

But there are many others (DSound, Resonate, Musicoin, etc.). I choose Choon because it seems more focused on music and their white paper is very well done:

Thank you! I've been working on more music influenced by BOC, but with a cleaner sound. However, I'm not convinced so for the moment I keep them unreleased. Since you're into that kind of sound, I recommend Cialyn, he just released a new ep:

And Faex Optim:

Great stuff!

Thanks for this, will definitely check out... as an ambient/sort-of-BOC-ish artist who's also into cryptos this definitely seems cool!

so just for listening to a track, you earn crypto?
or do people have to buy the music using crypto they've purchased?

Yes, it's as simple as that.

However, I have no idea (yet) on how it translates into real-world money. I've seen a guy on Facebook who's really into it, creating playlists as well as tracks on Choon and he claims he earned 6k$ (USD). Here's his Choon account:

He also writes articles and publishes music on Steemit and Dsound.

Eh, I don’t know — was excited for this and the site has been down for maintenance for at least 8 hours now. Will try again tonight.

You're right, it doesn't look good. Maintenance doesn't last that long usually. Hopefully, it's to add new functions.

This is the part I don't grok.

I get vastly more plays there than anywhere else on the net. Some look like people are going over and over the track.
With dollar signs in my eyes I feel like participating. Normally my music is coloring too far outside the lines for anything.
