Are these two comparable?

I’ve demod black box and absolutely love it but would prefer to buy it when it’s on sale again.

Does NA Saturate compare in any way?

Details, please. I own both and haven't considered them very similar. I would be very interested to know how to use Saturate to do what Inflator does.I know there are some that will dismiss Inflator as basically a waveshaper, but I've never seen anyone actually demonstrate a waveshaper that proves that what Inflator does is easily reproducible.

Frankly, for a brief time, I had them both installed and tested side by side, I got the impression that with "shape" control set to 0 Saturate gave me very similar results at least "functionally" (ate substantially more CPU as well).

Actually, it reminds me of Logic’s Clip Distortion more than anything.

Gotta say the HG-2 is a great plugin.

I really don’t know, since I haven’t used Saturate. I’m just going by it’s UI and what it does. I’m sure it would bring some other things to the game, but I’m just guessing there.

Logic’s Clip Distortion is certainly capable, but lacks some more advanced options, like what you would find in Trash’s Distortion module.
