No love for Vocalizer Pro?

Hi,
I have kept an eye on Vocalizer Pro by (the apparently dreaded company) Sonivox over the years. I finally found it on sale for 12 pounds at Plugin Boutique and was tempted enough to download and install it.
When first listening on my lead vocals run through Vocalizer Pro, it seemed like I could use maybe a few of the presets, and that most was just waste of (cyber)space. However, when playing my entire track together with the vocals, things started to fall into place. Suddenly the extreme settings of many of the presets resulted in rather cool sound effects, with evolving sounds, rises/falls/distorsion or ambients with huge reverbs etc.
I have searched KVR but there are no new threads on this old VSTi/FX, and at the time, there was little love for it. I use the great and free TAL Vocoder for general vocoder purposes, but for more experimental approaches, is there something better than Vocalizer Pro for a reasonable price? I'm thinking Melda stuff (and I own the delightful MMorph) but I don't think their products like MHarmonizer do more than "just" harmonize the incoming audio.
Thanks!

Sonivox stuff is pretty good, but I bought at pluginboutique and the cdes they gave Me didn't work. Furthermore, ilok is just a waste of time, especially if you switch a pc; which i just did. I just can't be bothered, but albeit bought everything of Sonivox's on sale. I have love for some of their products, but they're hard to activate, and.. they want all kind of drivers from win OS which they do not provide. First msvc, then some png driver, I gave up trying to find more drivers.
Shape up Sonivox; I'd use your stuff everyday, but you're missing the mark.

Thanks!
Yes, it seems rather cumbersome to use. For one thing, it resizes my copy of MuLab (haven't tried it in my other DAWs yet). This makes it hard to see the details.
That said, it's surprisingly useful. The sound really adds to the song I threw at it, so even if I can't use it properly, at least ten of the presets are useful enough to warrant the sales price.

So it is abandonware? They still sell it on their site for $50.00, but the samples on that page don't load.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

I like most sonivox, but it's a pain to get working.

More or less, yes. However, it works for me in its current state. I saw a thread dated a few years back regarding the GUI scaling issue, for example, but it is still there (or maybe that was another bug; I'm not sure).
So it comes down to what one wants to do with the current version, I'd say.
