Kiesel has a 10 day money back guarantee. I've had a few Carvins (Kiesel's previous brand name), the necks were always fantastic but they didn't have good tone.reggie1979 wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2019 7:56 pm It's a Kiesel. I've never had one, heard they are really good. In fact a dude down at GC let me play his and I really liked it (though his was kinda gaudy looking)

Not sure I really want a 3 pickup model or anything with humbuckers, as I already have that covered. Really targeting a really traditional Telecaster sound.Uncle E wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2019 9:40 pmMine has Strat pickups in the neck and middle. It's great for switching from a tough and twangy bridge position to an SRV-style #4 position.Forgotten wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2019 1:15 am I've got some variation in sound on mine, but with another Tele I'd really want to hear a traditional 50s Tele sound with just 2 single coil pickups. Definitely would spend most of my time playing it with a clean sound, so wouldn't worry about noise from the pickups.

unfortunately, the "raw tone" is an option 50 which means NO RETURN.Uncle E wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2019 10:02 pmKiesel has a 10 day money back guarantee. What I'm looking for is what Kiesel has with a good tone. Not an easy task, but it's what I want.

My next guitar, first bought as an adult, will be a bass. Thanks to the Mrs for her understanding (not as easy to buy a guitar invisibly as it is software, as we all know).
Model identified, purchase imminent.

Picked up a second hand Vintage VH51R £50, it's a decent player. As usual with used guitars, wear on the first 3 frets, FR not level, wang bar missing and 1 high fret.
Ceramic pickups, ideal for metal, got a shock, both measure 8.5K. Gonna block off the trem, maybe install a hotter bridge pickup, with a partial coil tap.
Alnico can sound too woolly for metal/distortion, I wanted this guitar for a edgier sound.

Already had to take one off to get the plastic covering off the scratchplate but put it back on as it's new and I like the lookForgotten wrote: Thu Oct 03, 2019 3:23 pmWill you leave the ashtrays on it or take them off?samsam wrote: Thu Oct 03, 2019 3:20 pm Bought myself one of these for a really good price. Not sure in the long run. Read that some folks have found the one near the pickup a bit intrusive but it feels fine to me after a couple of hours.
