I'm realizing that my lack of drumming background is a limitation for the music I make. Mind you, I'm not limited to acoustic sounding drums. Whatever the case, I'm looking for help with drumming patterns. In this 3-year-old thread, some mentioned using Jamstix patterns as midi to power other drum kits (for prefered drum sounds). Has anything come along since--or been updated--that is good for the following:

Have a lot of drum set pattern presets (or that can be sent out as midi, I think) that I can explore, hopefully with easy ways to swap out the drum sounds and/or put effects on individual sounds. I want to learn, in the process of doing this, about things that drummers do (without having to master playing a drum set itself). Maybe it will up my game when I draw in drum patterns--and get me past kick-snare-kick-snare-kick-snare. . .

Well, just saying; the guy that asked the question isn't seeing these new responses.

Ya, the point is to minimize the number of threads on KVR, per my understanding of the the request of KVR forums admins. Instead of starting a new thread every time you have a question or idea, tag it onto an existing, related thread (if there is one). This compiles knowledge, and makes it easier for people doing related searches in the future. There are several drum threads active right now, but I didn't feel they related as closely to what I was looking for as this thread does.
