How do you get transients like that at the beginning of a basic pluck? I'd appreciate any tips.

To me it sounds like a palm-muted guitar with a ton of reverb and something else layered on it, but I'm not sure.

Single coil electric guitar with a short reverb, palm muted and played with a plectrum.
