Yep! awesome box of tools. Just remove modules and use only the compressor :tu:
Yes, exactly! Limiter 6 is kind of a modular dynamics shaper. Very clever and high audio quality. :tu:

Im wondering if its compressor module was taken from Molot compressor?

Yes I am sure it is the "Sigma" mode.

Looking at the GUI, it does have ALFA mode too. So yeah, it must be the same compressor.

My issue there is CPU. With only compressor in and all other modules turned off, for me CPU is at 5%, and 4% in Eco precision.
But still, Leveler mode is very nice.

DMG trackcomp, Klanghelm Mjuc, Voxengo Marquis.

As amazing as they are, I never "fell in love" with Kanghelm's stuff.

Voxengo Marquis II and Crunchessor are my favorite all around comps. Quick to setup, versatile, sound great, low cpu.

Reacomp. basically a transparent compressor engine. Use your favorite saturation for character. For me that is Satson.

As a go to all rounder it has to be flexable. DC8C, Kotelnikov and some others above fit the bill also. Lately I have been using SDC by Sknote. It is a Shadow hills emulation that has a vca paired up with a opto. lots of possibilities. Loads of character.

Been having a lot of fun with SDC the last few days. It's a behemoth. I wouldn't use it on a track (though sometimes I do and it works fine) but it's interesting on the bus and I'm sure it will get some use on the master send as well. Bit hungry cpu wise. No presets. Confusing. No manual (I could find), but it's something a bit different in compressor land.

I don't really have 'go to' comps, but if I did, it would probably be Toneboosters track compressor, plus Voxengo Marquis and Crunchessor. Easy and quick to set up and dial in. You know within 30 seconds if it's not going to work with the program material, which is rare.

I bought SKnote c165a as well recently. I can see that getting a lot of use. It can level quite cleanly or get pretty dirty depending on how you dial it in. Also a lot of fun!

Been revisiting some old comp plugins as well like Waves C1. It can't be beat, especially as a gate/expander which is where it really comes in to its own even today. I also bought the SSL G Bus compressor today as well. That thing is seriously good. It's a lot smoother than my NI Solid Bus Comp which I really love. It has more bite and is a bit more gnarly than the Waves one, which is a lot smoother even at silly settings.

I also bought Hornet's 'multicomp' compressor as well today. https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/h ... -plus-mk2/

There's a sale on (surprise surprise!) and it's pretty good value at 20 bucks or so. I can see that getting a lot of use as well for quick track duties. Love the visual feedback. Handy sometimes (even when you aren't using it as a compressor).

I also bought the channel strip mk3 - which seems loosely based on the SSL channel strip. It's got a few different compressor types to play with and they all sound good. Their 'multicomp' has about half a dozen compressor types in it as well. The FET is outstanding.

I even bought the small pedal Boss knock off compressor as well (compressor/sustainer) from them. I'm sure that will be fun as well. I already have their 'Dynamics Control' plugin as well which does something a bit differently, but is useful sometimes. https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/h ... s-control/

I spent about the same as I was going to on DMG's track comp. But I got a load more plugins instead, and really, I just don't need another compressor anyway. I'll maybe pick track comp up later.

I'm also revisiting the Stillwell compressors. I already own The Rocket and it's a superb little thing. But I've also had great results with Major Tom as well, and Bombardier has been pretty excellent when I've used it as well. Again, I don't need them, but they sound great and are easy to use. Not so expensive either.

DMG track comp is just outside of my range for an impulse buy, especially when I have such an insane amount of compressors anyway. Sure, it's worth it. It's probably even cheap for what it is, but you know...

And finally, some of the most fun I've had in compressor land lately has been with good old Antress's plugins. They've really helped me focus on my 1176's compared to my 670's and to know my G Bus from my LA2A. Or whatever.

But really, for serious work when I'm concentrating and finishing tracks and just want to level something quickly without any artefacts, Toneboosters pretty much is the one. If I need a bit of character or saturation, then Marquis or Crunchessor usually do the job. They would be my 'go to ' TRACK compressors if I was pushed on the point.

With those and just the Waves and NI G bus comps for the 2-bus, I can't imagine any eventuality that wouldn't be covered.

But I really love my Klanghelm compressors as well. Flexible, incredible sounding and most of all true works of art in the gui department. Looking forward to see what Tony has in store for us come the new year!

I just love these threads. Almost veryone has something different :hihi:

I use so many different comps. They all have something different to add. If you don't have 50, you're just missing out :D
