Autumn Themed

Image

Time for a new contest, this time it is inspired by Autumn (fall)

Do a song that speaks Autumn to you and the listeners.

3 Min Time Limit

New deadline to 28th

Rules with some minor changes

____________________________________
Submissions MUST follow these rules:

1 - Encoded in either .mp3 .ogg (.Wav .Flac) format.
In use of Wav or Flac, you need to offer Mp3 also, so people can choose.

2 - 3 min time limit.

3 - Entered into the contest by posting a DIRECT LINK (note: THIS MEANS A DOWNLOAD LINK) in this RULES & SUBMISSIONS thread (use the GOSSIP thread for everything else). If you cant provide a direct link, please contact one of the following people listed below, they will be happy to help you out. These people provide free hosting for the purpose of this contest only! They are not a hosting service. When contacting these people, please take the effort to understand the terms and conditions they provide.

Providers:
2 - watto
3 - slartibartfast

In addition...
http://www.kara-moon.com/forum has offered "self service" space. Log into the forum to find out more.

4 - Submitted by early a.m. (US Central Time) Sunday, October 28 .

5 - Your entry(s) must be composed specifically for this contest (or, if a cover, arranged/recorded specifically for this contest).

6 - Your entry(s) must be created with audio plugins or software studio.

7 - Your entry should have the FILE named in a format of "yearmonth_artistname_tracktitle" (eg "1909_MonDieu_OxygeneXVII.mp3"), where the artistname is the same as your KVR name. Please do not use spaces and special characters in the filename. Special considerations will be given to those that have the hosting agent change the file name.

8 - If you are going to tag your mp3--and you should--the artist name is to be the same as your KVR name, and the title tag is to be the name of your tune.

9 - If there are strong doubts about the origin of the composition or parts of it, the participant should have the possibility to send a project file to the moderator, who could give it to a trustworthy person with the right host to examine it. Important: the participant should not be forced to do it.

10 - Resubmission of your track is allowed in the same post, so long you do it before the voting begins.

11 - Any tracks not adhering to these guidelines will be very naughty indeed. Possibly disqualified upon peer review. And at least mocked for all to point and giggle.

12 - Voting (members must have at least 20 posts to vote ... although contest entrants are exempt from this ruling) will run from the submission deadline until early a.m, October 1st. Anyone voting for themselves will find ALL their votes disqualified; any entrants not voting will also be disqualified.

If you have questions, send a private message to hellfog.

Not at all sure I'll have the time to do anything this month. In {cough} sunny {cough} Derbyshire for a week from tomorrow (doing the SynthFestUK bit on the Saturday), then at the end of the month got a week in Cologne including a couple of days at the Sonoj conference.
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was)

BTW Seva Randeep (Singh) is my spiritual name. You may know me as Jeroen van Rooij/Yuroun. Nowadays I mainly produce under my spiritual name.

In the fall the trees release their leaves and people prepare for the winter by detoxing themselves, both physically and mentally. A good way to spiritually detox is by singing the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. And, ofcourse, to dance. Singing and dancing go hand in hand together ;-)

My submission
http://www.sevarandeep.nl/mp3/1909_Seva ... style).mp3

Some information about the track:
Production time
5 hours and 38 minutes
Used DAW: FL Studio 20.5.1.

Other stuff used:
Kontak 5 with Indian Discovery series
Sylenth1
Blue2
Directwave with Sounds of India
Delay Lama (Old stuff, but still fun to play with)
My own voice :-)
Haris C Trance Drum Kits

And some samples from FreeSound.org
https://freesound.org/people/SamKolber/sounds/205740/
https://freesound.org/people/Reitanna/sounds/235119/
https://freesound.org/people/freesound/sounds/50182/

Here's an explanation of the mantra:
yogapedia wrote:According to the Dalai Lama, Om Mani Padme Hum has the power to: “transform your impure body, speech and mind into the pure body, speech and mind of a Buddha.” Breaking Down the Mantra:
The sound, Om, is believed to be the primordial sound of all creation.
Mani
The ma syllable in mani is associated with dissolving jealousy and the attachment to fleeting pleasures.
The ni syllable in particular is believed to dissolve our attachments to desire and passion while cultivating our ability to be patient with ourselves and others.
Padme
Pad is a syllable that dissolves our attachments to the many prejudices and judgmental notions we have while cultivating the quality of perseverance. This me syllable helps dissolve our attachments to being possessive while also cultivating our powers of concentration.
Together, padme means "lotus" and represents wisdom.
Hum
With the syllable, hum, we work to dissolve our attachments to aggression and hatred.
As you can see, this is a powerful mantra with a lot of meaning behind it. The one phrase that is said to sum it all up is this: “The jewel is in the lotus” or “Praise to the jewel in the lotus.

I guess I was thinking more Fall than Autumn . . . but it sounds kinda creepy & hope you dig it. Three min limit really restricted what I could do with the exposition of the piece. More structure of this one into a singer-songwriter style of "intro-a-b-a-b-c-a-b-outro" would require maybe 6 minutes.
So, this is done for now and best of luck & love to you, dear listener

I started this one on September 29th. I hope it fits the theme. I intend to flush this out into a finished piece, but as a work in progress, I thought the mood was right. Anyway...
