How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

Hello.

I'm looking for late 90's and early 2000 German Euro-House, Trance sounds techniques

I am particularly interested the sounds (synths, leads) which was used in these tracks.

Brooklyn Bounce - The Real Bass
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mK7ukBT8-Y

Maybe it is '' The Real Bass '' but I don't think this guy's voice is real, but certainly no auto tune was used to distort the voice. Maybe a vocoder was used, but I associate it with a robot voice.

Sequential One - Inspiration Vibes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiU0c3s0VuQ

Kosmonova vs. Fiocco - Celebrate
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTBFFjYtBcM

Antiloop - In My Mind
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5sQYUFGAc0

DJ Quicksilver - Planet Love
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rydt5iA0bQU

666 - Alarma
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRk7HEnvFPY

Warp Brothers - We Will Survive
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5bE0CPAxXw&t

Interesting Acid sound but I doubt if they used TB-303. It just sounds different and much modern.

Cosmic Gate - Exploration of Space
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj58nbn35bg

Blank & Jones - DJ Culture
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vf618VPoHU

Beam & Yanou - Sound Of Love
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMIoKLMf0Tk

Sylver - Turn The Tide (Cj Stone Remix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkfE6m76H98

DJ Shog - Another World
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l0qnzppTYg

After the Eurodance era, the electronic music scene was much more developed, so it's possible that the producers no longer used old synthesizers from the 1980s or early 90s.
This is a typical comercial German Dance, Trance projects so maybe someone from Germany knows what equipment they used to produce these sounds.

hello. well, you can probably make a similar sound to some of the synths played in these nice tracks, just search around some presets and maybe some youtube videos "how to..." etc.
But, a thing I've learned b4, is the tip of finding your own sound - try to play around with some presets. find the sound that YOU want to use and design it for you. try finding your own style. best of luck

Techniques... take a simple synth from that era and record single layers. That's how it was done at that time, no elaborate sound design here.

Can't help you with those sounds directly but Avenger has a HANDS UP pack, Nexus has 2 90's packs filled with big euro dance classic patches, a few in other packs to, including the original banks which is pretty much 90's.

SPIRE. This has to be 1 off my favourite 90's banks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPb2CWOdgvY

This 1 never dropped https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIFt2qVaeIc

I've made quite a few 90's Eurodance tracks but currently everything is up at 170 bpm, due to local market.

Yep. :) Always surprising for me again how rudimentary the tracks used to be, and what a wall of sound you are facing these days...

Quite a few threads in last few weeks with different people interested in late 90s/early 00's trance production. Are we going to see a comeback of that style finally?
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

I could mention several other classical synths of the 90' but in the 90s (contrary to today's glorification of synthesizers) a lot of work was also done with samplers (Akai, E-Mu).

At the turn of the millennium there were two special sample CDs regarding Eurodance which really cover everything you have listed above.

Ueberschall "Eurodance" even had an intro with the announcement of the "Mr. President" rapper himself. The sample CD is still available as part of the Elastik player (you can export the loops and sounds from it to your DAW of choice like with a sample pack). German company and producers (If you consider this a quality feature for Eurodance).

And then there's the old Zero-G "Interface Dance" sample CD. Still available as pack. Listen to the whole demo (Preview Pack):

And if you really want to go bonkers and are no hipster purist, just go and buy reFX Nexus with these two sentimental expansions. Once again made also by Germans including the glorious Manuel Schleis himself (it can't be more authentic :hihi: ).

ohh, nice advice so far - also any old sample CDs such as XX-Large The Killer vol 1 or vol 2 have tons of samples to play and they are absolutely 90s dance sounding - i love them. I've actually been importing them in to Avenger and having a blast.

It's worth noting that the spire bank comes with all the drum loops and midi too. Very good, good.

don't forget to try Synth1 (it's freeware), very nice for sound design, but I believe you can have some oldskool sounds with every nowadays standard vst like nexus, sylenth etc

Use 808 emulation or sample packs. They are everywhere.

Even the OP's question is generic, FFS! How do I make such and such type of sounds? By which he means the sonic pallette of a whole music style or two. What is the correct answer to that?

Well, let me guide your hand while you lose interest and start to think what other dumb question to ask next.
