Re: What are you watching?
my point is, the case made him this icon, had they not put his own wasted ass on tv news repeatedly that would not have happened.
when the police came for him, he thought it was drug related and ate his entire stash of acid. which is why his brain was fried to f**k.

Re: What are you watching?
Didn’t Dennis quickly realize what kind of guy he was and they ended up in a fist fight after Manson threatened his kids? I kind of remember it was a physical fight changed things then Dennis told all the music people he introduced Manson to what a psycho he really was.

Re: What are you watching?
Jakub (good), East of War (very good), and Silent Night, Deadly Night (saw it when I was a kid, but only remembered, or half-remembered, the Linnea Quigley part; the Grandpa scaring Billy scene is good, from then it is just so-so except for one other scene).

Bad Times At The El Royale - has its moments, but overall I can't say I liked it.

Re: What are you watching?
Picked up a CBS All Access subscription during the Amazon Prime Black Friday sale and started watching Evil. Good stuff. Episode 4 is one of the darkest and most disturbing network TV episodes in a while. Even Black Mirror feels pale in comparison.

Re: What are you watching?
I'll check it out - sometimes I like these shows but other times they are too specifically or intensely Christian for me to understand or suspend disbelief in the underlying mythos.

Re: What are you watching?
watched The Irishman last night
its OK, nothing amazing (typical mob type film) but easily 90 mins too long
not as good as the hype (but very little is)

Re: What are you watching?
It's actually a lot less Christian than you might think. The Catholic references are primarily for establishing context, they have close to no meaning for the progression of the storyline. At least so far.fairlyclose wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:52 pmI'll check it out - sometimes I like these shows but other times they are too specifically or intensely Christian for me to understand or suspend disbelief in the underlying mythos.
Edit: And I think that is actually what makes episode 4 so dark. You are somewhat waiting for a supernatural explanation and then it resolves itself in a twist that is disturbing because it is completely realistic.
