"experimental" alternatives to Arturia Microfreak?

Anything about hardware musical instruments.

Really like the ability to record modulation and the capacitive touch strip keyboard. Would love recommendations on synths that take this out of the box approach. I was also looking at the Volca Modular. Are there other synths I should consider?

P.S. Really like the price too :)

The Microfreak does look good.

The stylophone Gen R-8 looks interesting as well.

Not a touch strip so much as separate touch pads, but the Soma Lyra-8 is definitely "experimental" :)
