Why?

Because I have an old Casio toy that is actually freaking awesome. Well, I played with a home keyboard at my cousins place and I realized that it's a freaking powerhouse for all types of basic sounds for basically any genre!

So I'm looking for an affordable (read cheap) home keyboard or workstation? That would have at least 49 keys and all those basic piano, strings, percs, organs etc etc.. Oriental sounds are a big plus.

I tried to look around for something but the prices of the interesting stuff is so high that I should consider Komplete Kontrol s49 for that price and Kontakt libraries.

Soooo maybe someone here with more knowledge could point me a nice tool? :)

I understand that with keyboards, cheap is difficult to combine with quality.. I tried some Kisai keyboard at my local music store and it was so crap that even that old toy Casio is million times better.

I'm happy if someone can point me and old keyboard (maybe around 90's max) that meets both of the criteria... Cheap and great :D

Some Yamaha maybe?

How much do consider is cheap?

I recently upgraded from a 20 year old Roland 49 key to a Novation MK2 49 key thats was in the $200 range. It has grown on me. The keys are much longer than other keyboards and I am finding it very good to use so far. No issues.

You can also try looking at the Nektar range of keyboards. Maybe the LX series.

Good luck in your searches.

Nah.. I have a daw and midi controller for that.

More like this https://www.gear4music.fi/fi/Kosketinso ... ybEALw_wcB

Super interesting but costs 1k too much

So basically a second hand kb is the only option, but I have no idea of what would be THE kb for me.

the djx keyboard has loads of onboard sounds.
classic acoustic stuff and some electronic stuff.
it's a cheap workstation

DJX sells for less than £50 ... I gave one away not long back. It has full size keys, a lot of useful sounds, and a basic arp/sequencer iirc.

Post

yeah, they pop up all the time.
i gave mine away when i got the ms2000, needed the space, otherwise id have kept it just for some of the onboard sounds.

I ditched mine for the same reason ... not enough room.

The keys are primarily used to select patterns, mute parts, add preset hits or fills, and shift the key of the patterns playing.

This seems interesting  But worth to look obviously.. Youtube session here I come :D

Maybe check out some older KORG workstations while you're at it. There's stuff like the 61 key Kross 2 going for almost half-price new ... https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/synthesizer/ ... uXEALw_wcB

01/WFD

M1

Possibly all a bit pricey
