TIP:Migrating your sample database to a new computer

If you want to migrate your tagged samples to another computer:

The metadata is stored in a file called .metadata in the same folder of any sample you tagged. You won't see the file on OSX as it's hidden (to show hidden files on OSX use the shortcut Shift-Command-Period whilst navigated to the folder).

As all samples in a folder use the same .metadata file, and all sub-folders of that folder have their own .metadata files, all you need to do is copy your root sample folder(s) to the new computer, and all metadata (tags etc) will be transferred automatically.

For presets, the metadata is stored within the actual preset file (.nu, .fsprj etc). So again, just transfer the files to your new computer and the metadata will be transferred automatically.
