The next generation of vocal synthesis is about to drop from Waves Audio. The OVox Vocal ReSynthesizer promises better ways to transform vocal tracks and productions.

Transform your vocals with Waves OVox, the next-generation voice-controlled synthesizer, and vocal effects processor. You can use OVox as a plugin or standalone app (with or without a DAW) to create rich vocoder, talkbox, harmonizer, pitch/tune, vocal arpeggiation effects and beyond, with superior sound quality and instant results.

Whether you’re a producer, musician or engineer, the Waves OVox Vocal ReSynthesis places an unprecedented menu of vocal synthesis and vocal morphing options in your hands—from classic Daft Punk-style vocoding to futuristic vocal effects that defy category.

OVox delivers its ultra-high-resolution sound quality thanks to Waves’ Organic ReSynthesis® (ORS) technology, which takes your vocal signal and breaks it down to its core “DNA” elements—amplitude, pitch, and formant. It then re-synthesizes these elements to create a new pristine processed signal, without any of the artifacts that sometimes plague vocal synth-type instruments.

Totally! I was gonna ask if this is any different from vocal synth? Like, they say it's innovative, but FFT has been around for a while now...

From what I gather Waves is promoting this as being low enough latency to perform live with onstage where as VocalSynth is best suited for post.

Oh ok, that's good to know, but how low latency are we talkin' here? 0? Or like 512 which isn't much different? I guess I'll have to find out.

I'm playing with the demo right now. Latency is indeed 0 samples so that's nice. I'm on the fence about buying it though since I already have vocalsynth so it's a bit redundant for me.

Edit: Vocalsynth is 0 latency as well except for the compuvox and talkbox modes, so it's not even an improvement in that regard.
