seems they pulled it down already (Musician's Friend probably posted it too early), here's google-cached version: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/ ... en&ct=clnk

getting module count up to six warranted an entire new plugin? What exactly was wrong with the 6050 and why couldn't that have been extended with new modules and drag-n-drop? seems like a cash grap to me. hey, buy the "ultimate" collecton, but then we'll release the ultimatest collection and charge you $300 for it!

also, still no in-between-module metering and trimming. pass.
My guess here is they may have changed to much for it to be backwards compatible. So they gave it a new name so it wouldn't clash with the older plugin people need for backwards compatibility.

So, anyone tried this yet?
(Did they fix the sidechain on Windows?)

Now that the dust has settled a little bit, how many here are using this? What are your favorite modules?

I'm in the process in trialing this thing, and I find some of the EQs and compressors fairly decent. However what impress me the most is how the distortion modules work, how smooth their transition from "subtle" to "warm" is, especially on a voice/vocal. Most of my other distortion/saturation plugins are much more "spiky" in behaviour, they jump from "very very subtle" to super hot almost instantly.

I wish the EQ modules had a output knob, as comparing tonal effect of individual EQ modules in on/off is very hard when there's gain differences.

I'm still using 6050. Don't think I'll upgrade.
Do want to mention that around the release of the 6060 they did a bug update that fixed a lot of the problems on Windows. The things that annoyed me before are gone. I'd imagine 6060 enjoys the same fixes. (You can download the latest installer from their website)

Still use the 6050 all the time. Great results at a tiny CPU footprint.

My preferred saturation tool is Scheps Omni, but 6050/60 is a decent alternative and I do use it when I already have it open, usually on drums.

I've gotten used to dropping this on the 2-bus as well. I use the filtering module to apply the final filter cuts to both ends, and I enjoy auditioning all the compressor to see which one glues the mixbus best. It's made me gain appreciation for the DBX overeasy compressor. If I wasn't using something else for saturation I might also use this here.

$100 discount for 6050 owners has been emailed out, so with the current sale it brings it down to $99

What emails they're sending it to, through the iLok database? I bought my copy of 6050 from AudioDeluxe and would be very interested in the discount.

Think I bought mine through Plugin Boutique so not sure how they got my email address. I'll PM you as it's the last day it's valid today

Thank you, Havok. I placed the order on the McDSP site - no response so far, we'll see how it goes.

I don't think I'm on their "list", because I never got email about the discount. And I've even sent their support email asking them about "upgrade" possibility, bummer.
