Lots of people have used this one, and it's free, so hey: https://www.izotope.com/en/products/vinyl.html

Here's another freebie I didn't even know about until just now: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/hy-lofi2-by-hy-plugins Might have to try it. :D

There's more out there too. Just one there that I'm familiar with, and another that looks interesting.

Paid options, so many to choose from. Maybe grab a faux-tape effect. Might be useful.

Yes vinyl.

Also toneBooster's ReelBus, Ferox and Dither.

Don't overlook the humble EQ. Push the mids and add a little saturation (FreeAMP from Klevgrand is good for this, tube and tape sat). This should get you in ballpark so to speak. Tritiks Krush (also free) is a neat tool, bit crushing, sample rate reduction, drive etc in one.

I use a Lo-Fi Piano to begin with. 4Front Piano.
http://www.yohng.com/software/piano.html
It's very small in size, therefore no multilayered super-high resolution Piano.
I remember using a Piano on my Roland S-330 Sampler in the 90's which fitted on a 1.44 Megabyte Floppy disc. Of course those 10 Gigabyte modern Piano Libraries don't sound anything like those old lo-fi stuff. I friggin' hate them and don't even install all those Pianos that come with Komplete.

Apart from that, I use Ferox and Reelbus by Toneboosters for Tape Sound.
Freeware would be i.e. CHOW Tape Machine or Sender Spike Tape recorder.
https://senderspike.wordpress.com/2019/ ... -recorder/
https://github.com/jatinchowdhury18/AnalogTapeModel

I also like to use Timemachine by Toneboosters, a Bit reduction plugin. 12bit sounds great for Lo-Fi. Lots of old time Hardware Samplers were only 12 bit. The trick is to blend it into the normal signal not use it 100% wet.
Similar is TAL Bitcrusher as Freeware.
https://tal-software.com/products/tal-effects

Also subtle bit reduction is nice, i.e. I use ReaDelay for Delay, which has the option to make the delayed signal bit reduced while the regular signal stays untouched.
ReaPlugs are Frewéware.

The Toneboosters Plugins : https://www.toneboosters.com/plugins.html

If your DAW runs 32bit Plugins, The Toneboosters plugins were once called JB Plugins (after their maker) before they went more professional in marketing.
You can still get the old JB plugins via archive.org for free :

A bit degrader and EQ cutting lows and highs should work for any piano sound.

iZotope Trash2 does all things lo-fi and beyond. It comes with the Classic Textures expansion which is great for lo-fi.
On sale now for $8.88.

Thanks all for your input. Think that I will start from EQ tweaking on my piano and drum as suggested by @GaryG & @DiscoDSP and then I will look for Tape plugins etc ...

Doesn’t Battery have different engines? I’ve only opened it once, but isn’t there an SP1200 engine? That should help with the drum samples, I’d think, unless it’s no good. Of course, if you want to go farther then Toneboosters bit crusher is good, as already mentioned, also TAL’s DAC would work, and Tritik’s Krush (I think that’s what it’s called) is a nice unit too.
