What are some soft synths with preset morphing?

That one weirdly is only menu based in terms of selecting the preset to morph to, so I still don't understand how that is useful.muki wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:03 pm good old oddity 2

I'm looking forward to when NewSonicarts implements morphing between it's snapshots, as has been hinted to. It would be nice to Kore style snapshot morphing again.

It has a very cool function called patch breeding.empphryio wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 1:18 pmI used to use that. Don't recall it morphing exactly.. Thought the volume could just be automated to go between patches? I could be wrong.ravasb wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 1:02 pm Pretty old, but still sounds great and is 32 and 64. It's also free.

Thanks for your suggestion. Fyi that isn't what I'm looking for. I want the sound gradually changing as it's playing. Its patch breeding could also be called morphing but isn't remotely what I mean. Sorry I wasn't clear enough.ravasb wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 3:16 pmIt has a very cool function called patch breeding.empphryio wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 1:18 pmI used to use that. I wonder how many of the other suggestions are based on this misunderstanding....

Most synths with a mod matrix or drag and drop assignment allow you to map whatever parameters to modwheel or macro knobs, so tweak these and you'll be getting essentially that
Or did I misunderstand your question too?

I'm very much aware of that.recursive one wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 4:04 pm Most synths with a mod matrix or drag and drop assignment allow you to map whatever parameters to modwheel or macro knobs, so tweak these and you'll be getting essentially thatOr did I misunderstand your question too?
Thanks to all responses. This will keep me busy a while.

I demoed MorphoX a while back while it was still around. From my memory some presets indeed changed in a very drastic way when I tweaked that "morphwheel" but it thought it was just how the presets were programmed. I think any synth with decent modmatrix can do something like that, can't it? Or was there more to it in MorphoX than just clever assignments?empphryio wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 5:12 pmI'm very much aware of that.recursive one wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 4:04 pm Most synths with a mod matrix or drag and drop assignment allow you to map whatever parameters to modwheel or macro knobs, so tweak these and you'll be getting essentially thatOr did I misunderstand your question too?

I'd suggest trying out synths having few macro knobs, Serum, Spire, Massive X, Rapid.

Seconded. You can set up to twelve patches on the leftmost octave of keys, then press one to morph to that patch.
Velocity-sensitive, too — low velocity gives a slow morph, high velocity, fast morph. I think (not certain, and can't test it now) you can release the key before morphing is complete to stop at an intermediate stage.
IIRC this feature was borrowed from OhmBoyz' Symptohm:Melohman, so there's another.

Doesn't Imageline's Harmor let you morph between A & B parts (I know, not strictly speaking 'presets')?
SonicCharge Microtonic let's you morph between two states / parts too, but that's a drum synth.

Yeah, my bad, it's just a mixEchoes in the Attic wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 6:39 pmI'm pretty sure those are just two layers that can be cross-faded. No different than changing the levels. No parameters change.

Yeah, all the Ohm Force (which some became GForce...) synths have that morphing ability.

I’m not sure what really happened to Ohm Force, but I do love some of their plugins.

If I remember properly, Monique by Monoplugs had morphing as one of its core features.
