Black Box is just a distortion unit while Punish is a channel strip. Punish does include a 3 types of distortions if it interests you. But I don't really like the sound of Punish overall, I would personally go with Black Box. It's been a while since I tested out Punish though.

Black Box is something special. I haven't used Punish but I absolutely love Black Box.

I'd say BB is more Hi-Fi while Punish can get more grungy and dirty. I have both and don't find them to overlap much.

HG-2 sounds amazing, it's also a very different kind of plug-in. That does one thing well. With Punish you're buying 4 mediocre plug-ins chained together in a way you can't even change AFAIK.
