This thread doesn't make any sense. He consolidated several threads but without the titles and now its in a weird order and all over the place. How is anybody supposed to understand what I said?

I left the subject that seemed most generic, but you're welcome to change it at any time; this is true of any thread that you create.Spring Goose wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 4:52 pmThanks. I'll trust you to choose the appropriate title.Meffy wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 4:51 pm Please don't start a new thread every time you have a question about key. I'll consolidate your current threads into one. Please post further questions to that thread.
If you want to change the thread's subject, you can edit the first post in that thread.
The combined thread might be confusing because questions and replies overlap; no way to avoid that. I did leave the question about Reason separate because it's definitely a different topic altogether.
One way to solicit advice without becoming a "help vampire" is to work and research on your own, then if you decide to ask a community (KVR or any other), tell what you tried and what results you did or didn't get. This helps to prevent duplicated effort and shows potential respondents that you're putting in some actual effort, not expecting someone else to provide ready-to-use solutions for you.
There's nothing wrong with being a beginner or asking for help. Just demonstrate that you're making a real effort to help yourself, then share what you've learned and what you still need help with. That's how to be part of a community, as opposed to merely taking advantage of others and wasting their time and energy.

pick up a copy of the idiots guide to music theory.Spring Goose wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 4:50 pmHow do I learn? I'm simply asking questions about things I don't understand or i'm not sure about.
follow it from start to finish, no jumping!
it explains things in a more plain language than many theory books, helping a beginner to understand rather than confusing them.
its only a basic beginners book, dont expect mastery of the craft, but it will give you enough to move on to more advanced books and better understanding of how to find the information as youll have a better "musical vocabulary"
(not calling you an idiot at all, my copy is in front of me, under my guitar for dummies

The lesson you should learn from this: Concentrate on understanding one thing before starting a thread about another question. Your Music Theory threads got merged because you were monopolizing the forum's topic list. That's a kind of spam, and very few people like spam. Because of this, several of your threads were reported by other KVR members.Spring Goose wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 4:59 pm This thread doesn't make any sense. In this thread I was told off about being unspecific and deviating from the original subject.

I think what Meffy is saying is figure out one question for discussion rather than all the similar ones. I think most people who answer here will know what your previous threads were about, so just carry on from this point with the questions you have.
I do agree with vurt too - a printed book is good to have to hand as you never know when questions might come up that you could get a quick answer for.

try learning 20 different things, get confused between them and learn nothing.
