Ooh nice, that one caught my eye before.
My 2nd (and most expensive) guitar is an Ibanez, arrived well set up, never needed any adjustments/servicing in 15 years.

I’ve got my eye on this one, any thoughts?

I assume a copy of a much older arch top model? Looks gorgeous!

What are those pickups?

Post

I believe it's an actual Dearmond. It's an Aria Pro from the early 80's.

Post

Nice! Has classic jazz box written all over it!

No worries, the nuclear pollution from Hinkley Point will mutate the virus beyond recognition.
Will prolly be benign by the time it gets here. Give people laugh kicks and silly thoughts. Might even become inspirational, who knows?

Keep thinking about one of these..

Obviously, an acoustic bass VI would be even better..but the only one I've seen is about £2000, and it wasn't even Fiesta Red.. :o

You spelled his name wrong, and he did promise in another thread not to fart in public...

I don't know if I posted this-
I vaguely recollect having,
but I am hankering after a Steinberger Spirit.
Maybe the cost is a little above $750 AUD.
It's wicked that the 2 colours I like for it, aqua and yellow
are out there.

It would be a sweet one to play synths with, if I can just get the coding to perform acceptably on normal humbuckers/sc

I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

I have one. It plays really poorly. If you can save for a real Steinberger (not a Spirit), you will be happier.

At some time I will prolly take the punt on a Spirit-
the advice is very much appreciated though- I have noted that

The truth is that for synth, I can set it so the frets buzz,
and the buzzing is inaudible in the output synth signal

I have an ESP/Ltd where this happens inescapably,
but it doesn't matter

hmm thinking again- I wonder what my perfect headless is then, maybe I should try to shape/build one myself-- or maybe I truly have enough electric guitars, numbering 10 atm

+1 the tremolo on the real thing when I played one was terrible, even with the guitar set up well, so can’t imagine it’s better on this.

Arrived today, in good shape despite the worn outer box.
(Shipped by DPD, I've only had good experiences with those guys. Shipments arrive like clockwork, no damages so far)

First impressions:
- I find the lowest string hard to tune (Cubase tuner; cheap Thomann clip-on tuner).
I wonder if re-stringing will help.
- 30" makes for widely spaced frets, that will take some getting used to
- plays well
- looks like the picture, apart from the pick shield which has scratches. I also had to wipe her down, I don't know where she's been but she was... well, suffice to say my tall lady looks spotless now.
Nice wood grain.
- sounds good to me (but I'm clueless when it comes to pickups)
- light; ergonomic body shape

Feels different from my other [bass] guitars. I've always felt disappointed E was the lowest I could go, but this guitar has more to offer: a new perspective, that invites a new way of playing. Another tone.
I'm glad I bought her, I'm sure she will inspire.

In moments of endearment I call her my ten'or bass.
