It doesn't get better than Geist2. It's the state of the art.
And you need to RTFM!
Couple of points... :D

A) I know Geist like the back of my hand.
B) It works fine on my system.
C) I'm not trying to attack FXpansion - so I not too sure what the epic post was all about. :D
D) I don't like the workflow as the GUI is small and really cluttered (especially when you make longer patterns).
E) What wrong with looking at other stuff as a matter of interest or having more toys to play with? :D
F) I'd prefer to work with a product that will have the prospect of having regular updates (if needed).
G) Just because Geist can 'do more' doesn't mean it's better for me. It has lots of features I don't use. Using the different lanes in the sequencer is a right pain, trying to click exact parameters is a nightmare. :( Fast easy workflow is where it is at (for me).

I'm just trying a few demos out at the moment from all the suggestions here. I'm having a blast with X-fer's Nerve. I'm finding it well easy to use and it has some neat tricks up its sleeve. Plus, there's an update on the horizon according to Steve Duda.

I've bought XO and that's a great creative tool and lots of fun...

Couple of points... :D

I didn't think you were trying to attack FXpansion.

You're not sure what my 'epic' post was about?

Let me give a little clue.

This is a music forum. An audio forum. Where people ask questions and others give answers. Except, if you go over a certain word length people get uppity. I'm very sorry. Give me some guidelines next time. Sucks to be autistic.

:D

Next time I just won't bother.

And no, not being emotional. Just clearing house. The cancer on this forum will kill it in the end. If you don't want to get a response, don't ask questions.

:D

Attack FXpansion all you want. God knows they deserve it. And I'm not here to defend them or pile in to them.

Sometimes, some people just give their opinion.

:D

I stumbled on this thread trying to decide on a soft drum machine. I have been leaning towards UVI Drum Designer but there being no sample importing and no demo hurts its chances for me.

I want something to help make my life of live performance for light rock and pop type sounds.

Waveform and Bitwig are my DAWs and UHe is my Bae. I maybe buy one synth a year. REMEMBER SELF just one synth a year!

UVI does look and sound pretty good... No sample import is a deal breaker for me too. :(

How can you describe a resizable interface as small and fiddly?
Drawing in the automation is a pain compared to Nerve which is a breeze.
Ah OK, certain aspects can always be unproved for sure. Once G2 came out it got rid of most of what I found uncomfortable in OG.

I'd love to see a de cluttered interface with a better mouse click response... As well as making it easier to draw in sweeping automation. But in all fairness Geist is a powerhouse.

Interesting thread. Kind of curious myself in finding something like this. Testing Nerve. Also I don't think anyone mentioned Izotope Breaktweaker?!
