Sounds really good as a "Loudenizer" for individual tracks, the opto mode is smooth and great for bass and vocals and the VCA mode tight and punchy.
Quick effective volume maximizer with nice color.

So what's the deal with they're compressors. They're BussPressor sounds really good how much better does they're MasterComp sound or is it just that is has more control?
What im asking is are the compression characteristics much different?

I do not know if it has been posted but in jrrshop they have a lot of PSP plugins at 20$.

I went for the FETPressor. Tried it on some material as I was testing not just against other similar plugins but also some hardware, and I fount it to be brilliant. Great sound, low CPU, 0 latency. Have to test more but already feeling like this is going to replace some of my current tools, and most likely be my tracking comp as of now.

BTW for everyone reading, I also went for the N2O effects unit and tried the reverbs against other low-cpu, low latency for tracking. N2O did not win against EVERYTHING I have in my plugin folder, but came in thereabouts third in low CPU, and of the low CPU bunch came in first for sound quality. I would definitely use this for tracking, and I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of the reverb algos in this thing for any use.

In my experience, when I bought Mix Pack 2 & PianoVerb, it was simply a serial number authorization and no ilok like what has been mentioned in this thread. Is there a way knowing which products require ilok and which ones don't?

Apparently NobleQ, the Pultec emulation is really good.

Yes, i like it a lot. I use all their EQs for different tasks, NobleQ for its smoothness (especially on wide bandwidth sounds).

I was interested in Hertzrider, but I see little chat about it and barely any videos using it. Is it not that good? I realise the main criticism of it is no LFO sync to DAW.

Certainly the greatest value for money right now is the PSP Ultimate bundle for Voltage Modular. You get 29 modules in total, which includes 12 Nitro modules and they are hugely more useable than in N2O because of their good, modern (fully resizeable btw) GUI.

Also you get reverbs, modulation, delay, EQs, a compressor and more…

At its normal price of 149$ it's already great VFM, but now you can get it for 49$ (or perhaps even less from a retailer)

After having read some reviews I really started to wonder if people have actually realized that Voltage Modular is an FX plugin too, so it can be a really flexible channel strip, a multi-fx plugin, a modular fx-environment and any combination of these...
it's actually even possible to save, load and combine multiple different "cabinets" that each serve these different roles (or of course again arbitrary combinations)

It's a shame that some of these plugins use iLok now. I've pretty much snapped up most the ones that don't.

I just got Noble EQ though which I thought used iLok for some reason, but doesn't.

I'm buying very little software now, and I've still got EQ's I bought that I haven't installed (Acon), but I've heard so many great things about the Noble EQ from people with much better ears than me, so...

Grab what you can while you can though, because the spring reverb I bought has now been updated to iLok so you can't buy it anymore without using that copy protection. I get to use the old copy of course, which is fine. At least PSP lets you do that and doesn't pull a Native Instruments on you.

I've got an old low res monitor just to run the Lexicon delay they did.

If these could be updated to a modern interface they would kill it.

Cherry Audio doesn't use Ilok, so the Spring Reverb for Voltage Modular does not - and will not in the future, I assume - require Ilok either. Not sure which one it is based on though - I'd have to compare - it appears sound better than SpringBox to me but still more similar to it than to Nexcellence... since I have all three I probably could find out...

Okay, I just compared - it sounds WAY better than SpringBox - has the same quality as Nexcellence - and Features three different types of spring tanks: short, long and necklace - the algorithm for the latter one however seems to be tuned somewhat differently to Nexcellence - more in your face so to say - it's difficult to say for sure though as they do not have the same set of controls. Either way personally at least for guitar I personally prefer the the VM one. It's flexible, easy to tweak and does exactly what it says on the tin and in great quality - it's my favourite spring reverb now. It's like they condensed the best of both Spring Box and Nexcellence into one streamlined plugin.
