tro make it short: in the 90s we thought that 16 Bit 42 KHZ would be it. Today we know that CD Quality was just a temporary Quality Standard ...

still is, infact, it's a much higher quality than most formats these days

... and its 44.1,not 42

Come on buddy...

Let's not get too picky here....

42 is awfully close to 44.1 :)

Do you own both Zebra 2 and Zebra HZ and care to comment on how much use Zebra HZ gets or why you might prefer it over the regular version.
I believe that if you have ZebraHZ there is no reasons to use regular version since ZebraHZ includes everything that regular version have plus additions listed above. Also it can open presets of the regular version. But the factory presets of regular version is not included in ZebraHZ as well as the fx version - Zebrify. In summary, ZebraHZ is the regular Zebra 2 with additions and Dark Zebra presets.

Regular versions of Zebra 2 includes:
- Zebra 2
- Zebralette (Free little synth based on the one oscillator of Zebra 2)
- Zebrify (FX version)
- ZRev (The research reverb plugin)

ZebraHZ includes:
- Regular Zebra 2 with additions and a different skin.
- The Dark Zebra presets (From The Dark Knight)

You can just simply create a shortcut of your Zebra2 preset folder and paste it in the HZ preset folder, and you will never have to touch the regular Zebra again.

No news on Zebra 3... other than in general, it is being developed and don't expect it to ship in 2020.

I have at least a dozen software synths I like better than Massive X.

You too!
