Hi folks, due to Corona I have been asked to do a recorded radio session. Studio is closed, so I got to do it at home. Needs to be done next week. I thought I had everything to do it, but I do not get it to run, so I need your help urgently.

Usually I use Waveform for music, using an Asio interface. But this does not seem to work here. What I need: One microphone for myself (by USB headset). I need another one (another USB headset) for my guest. The problem: I can only configure ONE of those devices and cannot find a way to activate both simultaneously. But that would be essential for being able to put myself on one track and my guest to another track for correctly panning our voices.

Hopefully anyone does know the solution or at least any workaround. BTW I have no mixer and it wouldn't help anyway, because those mics are USB only ...

If you are in a hurry you should use the tools proven to work good for you.
Your post history shows this is not Traktion / Waveform.

I hope you do let me chose the tools, I feel to be right, myself. BTW, Waveform IS a tool, to principally claiming to be fit for a podcast. Easy to check, when you open a new project, you can choose a template, called "podcast" and its structure looks perfect for this job. I know that there are special podcast tools, which even can transmit live (what I do not need), but I do not want to spend money, because I won't get it back with a few almost free emissions. Apart from that, if this problem lies with ASIO, not with W11, then it would be appear on other tools as well.

I really appreciate constructive help, and very much so, but yours does not exactly fit into that category ... If it were, you would at least name a tool, you see fit not to produce problems like this.

I may be wrong, but afaik computer treats usb mic as an audio interface.. So you just can't use 2. Again, I MAY be wrong.

I feared so ... still hope for some workaround. Of course I could get a mixer and use two dynamic mics from a band, but I want to avoid organizing this, because that would be against the law (curfew) in my country ... :(

I'm pretty sure your right on this. It's not a Tracktion limitation either. AFAIK there's no DAW that allows the use of more that one ASIO device simultaneously.

As a workaround try this:
https://youtu.be/CwsZPeYFse4

The same method is mentioned here:
https://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advi ... gether?amp

"Those with two or more different audio interfaces can try a different approach. On the PC you can try combining their functions using the freeware ASIO4ALL driver (www.asio4all.com), although this can result in increased latency, and on the Mac you can try creating an ‘Aggregate Device’. Once again, this can significantly increase latency."

Asio4all is a good suggestion. But have you tried it without ASIO?
I've recorded my first 4-track recordings from two soundblasters in CoolEditPro.

Would Wavosaur or Audacity perhaps work?
