Dunno, it's a thick string, it kinda sits on top of the nut's groove.
I also noticed the intonation is off on that string, and the adjuster is already maxed out, so it may be impossible to fix, I'll have to check which way the adjuster would need to be moved.

And today the SG-type I ordered last year arrived.
Revelation RX62
I find her really pretty.
She plays well, too.
Fitted with bright passive hi gain pickups (Entwistle Darkstar) the clean sound doesn't impress me much, but as soon as I added some Muff, Rat and bit crushing she started to shine.

You might be able to fix it by flipping the saddle around. If that doesn't do it, I believe either Nashville-style tuneamatics or something else like is wider to give extra room for intonation.cptgone wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2020 3:42 pm I also noticed the intonation is off on that string, and the adjuster is already maxed out, so it may be impossible to fix, I'll have to check which way the adjuster would need to be moved.

Powerful pickups tend to split pretty well. If they are 4-conductor, you can either split them or run them in parallel, and that should give you a sweeter clean tone. If that still doesn't work, you can change the magnets to Alnico 2 or Alnico 3. Changing magnets is really easy as long as you're careful about installing them in the same direction.cptgone wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2020 3:49 pm Fitted with bright passive hi gain pickups (Entwistle Darkstar) the clean sound doesn't impress me much, but as soon as I added some Muff, Rat and bit crushing she started to shine.

Yes. Take off the electrical tape and remove the 4 surrounding screws (not the screw poles), then you can push them out from the side. You'll ruin the pickup if you break the wire leading to the coil but it's easy to avoid if you're careful. Some of the wax potting will probably break off but I find that cheaper pickups have too much potting, anyway.

I just had another strum and now I'm wondering if I spoke too harsh.cptgone wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2020 3:49 pm Fitted with bright passive hi gain pickups (Entwistle Darkstar) the clean sound doesn't impress me much, but as soon as I added some Muff, Rat and bit crushing she started to shine.
- I should use closed headphones. When strumming hard, the acoustic sound of the guitar doesn't overly please me. To make things worse, I cannot reach the headphone volume knob without bothering one of my cats somewhat, so the volume is set to be still tolerable with all pedal guns blazing.
- I've been playing my previous acquisition the past month, really digging its tone: a guitar over twice the price (that may have some tuning issues, unlike the Revelation).

Been window shopping, even though I don't need another guitar. These copies are getting more elaborate.
