MEET YOUR NEW BASS PLAYER.

On May 19, we complete the rhythm section. Say hello
to the latest member of the EZ Line band: EZbass.
Stay tooned for more in the coming weeks.

TWO BASSES.
Two carefully sampled bass guitars
– one vintage and one modern.

SONGWRITING.
Arrange, compose, change and rearrange – without leaving the software.

MIDI.
Comes with bass MIDI for a broad
range of styles.

A BASS PLAYER.
Use drum or keyboard MIDI and have EZbass automatically create matching bass lines.

GRID EDITOR.
Alter the performance or the subtler details of the MIDI using the built-in Grid Editor.

AUDIO TRACKER.
Audio to MIDI conversion based on the same technology found in Superior Drummer 3.

AND MUCH,
MUCH MORE…

Quick rough guide to mapping EZbass keyswitching to Trilian...

You can't get a 1:1 match because EZbass has more keyswitching options than Trilian (see below),
Image
but the main ones are similar. I got decent results changing the default keyswitches in the Trilian acoustic bass from

to
Image

Hope this works for others, but please post below any other (or better) key maps you find and I'll add them to this first post as a resource for others.
----
I have also found a nice donationware (free, but has links for making a donation to the developer) MIDI plugin (Windows VST only I'm afraid) named NoteMapper.
It's at
https://www.codefn42.com/notemapper/
in 32bit and 64bit VST2 flavours and allows you to easily set up a map between notes and other notes or CC events and seems an ideal tool for creating presets to handle articulation mappings.
I've created a preset for converting between EZbass and Trilian, but don't have anywhere to host it. If anyone has somewhere that can host small files for free then let me know. it seems the presets are stored within the plugin so there's no external file I can share.
I guess you'd just have to manually create those presets yourself unfortunately, but it only takes a few minutes and then once it's done you can just reuse it each time.

Pretty impressive from the demo video.

I hope that MIDI from Audio or MIDI workflow finds its way into EZ Keys, simplifies things a lot.

According to KVR itself...
EZbass list pricing: 179 USD / 159 EUR / 1,295 SEK / 135 GBP / 16,500 JPY

Put a message on their forum about whether the prices listed are final and whether there would be an intro price or crossgrade price from Ez keys / mix / drums. Was told that there is NO intor or crossgrade pricing. So full retail price for all.

Shame they don't sell on Audio deluxe or Everyplugin, else there would be at least some discount.

I love loyalty me!

Seems a little expensive, hopefully they have a special price for the release

It's cheaper than I was expecting when you look at the RRP of MODO Bass and Trilian.

Yeah, I was surprised to see the pricing. I have purchased it mentally already and hope everyday I wake up is the 19th of May...are we there yet? :)

I do wonder why they didn't call it Superior Bass or something, because I think the feature set looks more rich than the EZ series.

I get paid on the 23rd so those four days after it comes out will be painful. Though maybe I just live off dried pasta for 3 weeks and that'd leave me enough to buy it on release day.

Nope... See my previous post about Toontrack's response...

After watching that intro video, I must admit that I'm rather impressed.
It might not have the flexibility of Modo but it does have some rather neat features of its own.
Looking forward to the release.

Was thinking of using this to generate the midi and MODO to render. Might need to write a midi map between the different key switches. We shall see.

So...just one more day now. I am grabbing this on launch day for sure. This is the plugin I've been waiting for for years.

While this is possible, you still need to re-map midi notes telling the MODO what to slap, what to pick and so on. I'm not sure slides are interpreted the same either. Even though I own MODO already (as well as a couple of Ample Sound basses) I think I will mostly use EZbass from no on.
