Excellent job... as usual. :)

Maybe the percussion - hats an especially snares - should be somewhat more prominent. But I'm nitpicking, really.

I like how you manage to keep interest through the whole track without using anything resembling a melody.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Thanks man 8)

I went back and forward with the percussion levels and decided in the end to lower them, otherwise the track lost a bit of momentum (contrary to what one would expect).

Re maintaining interest: this is down to automation and LOTS of it.

Well, I had to give this a listen. As stated above, despite no melody, kept interest because of everything you have going on in it. Well done. :tu:

Like it a lot. All hail the automation!

Thanks Wags. I’m glad the time I put into it showed. My HOFA meter registered 92 hours

Thanks man. It’s amazing how much life can be given to a dull sound via automation.

I had a mixing epiphany last night so redid this putting those theories to test. Seemed to work, especially in the low end.

That was great listening. I loved the overall atmosphere and the attention to subtle details.

Wow that packed a punch. Some fantastic vocaloid type sounds... yeah>> love that.
92 hours...
OK, the track owes you...
Let's say minimum wage @ £10 ph = £ 920.00
1 coffee per hour 92 x (say 50p) = £ 46.00
But that only gets the heart to about 100/120 bpm...
so....
the special powder... hmmm... 4 lines per hour = 368.. nah
lets call it 400 lines.. 50 mg per line: 1 grm per 5 hours = 18.4 grm...

nah... say 20 grms @ £100 per grm = £2,000
(this is the real MacCoy Bolivian Flake.. ;)
From Mushy's stash bought before the covid price hike )

Yeah... track owes you £2966.00 :hihi:
Good bit of work here mate... :tu:

Not really...
Back in the 1980's (after I came off the road as a sound engineer) I worked in a studio complex (long story)
our Trident mixer into Studer 16/24 track was £40 per hour... £3,840
and that's before coffee.. (ok.. coffee was free.. but not t'other :P )
our Raindirk mixer into 8 track MCI was £25 per hour
and I had some lovely compressors.. 2x DBX160.. 2x Neve 2254 mmmmmm
We don't realise how good we have it now.. although I still prefer HW ;)
and our rooms were nicely treated

OK.. serious now..
What BPM was that.. I might try smthg on the modular...
I normally work at between 100/120 bpm... but the vocaloid/wavtable sounds you got are along the lines I was getting from Serum and Thorn.. I now use Waldorf's nw1, a eurorack copy of their Nave synth (OSC only).
But I have up to 10 drum/perc voices.. )))))) I like my beats/rhythms... and a challenge.
It won't be psy.. as I don't know the ins and outs ..
but I can try a tooner_trick interpenetration.

It's 148. I'm curious what sounds you mean by the vocaloid ones? I've never even tried Vocaloid so it's not that. The leads are Serum, Phase Plant and Spectral. I assume you mean the main, dark one though and that's Phase Plant.

Looking forward to hearing your interpretation :tu:
