Nothing serious - just continuing my exploration and experimentation

Had some time off work, cant really go anywhere as I need to isolate a bit due to NHS work (even though lockdown is being eased I feel I need to be healthy when I go back).. so I've dragged out some mics I've barely had time to play with.

There is a set of drum mics by Subzero, £100 for a kick mic, 3 snare/tom mics, and 3 electret condenser pencil mics. I've been trying to use the snare mic on things. It was naff in the Zoom r24 as there wasn't enough gain, but it did give me a grotty sounding guitar sound, which I remixed into this:

I was surprised at how happy it came out. The other instruments are from various sample libraries I've picked up.

The second track is kind of old-school industrial.

Again, nothing serious, just trying out ideas. All the drum sounds were me hitting an old shed in the garden, and shaking a spanner. The weird noises were the TV and distant garden noises that have been gated by the drum beat.

reminds me of some throbbing gristle, with the voices not quite coming through

has a little hint of sigur ros, but is its own thing.
