For June: a well structured composition with singer and two instruments or synth presets only, no drums.

Why don't we just make it piano and vocal and that's it.

Post

I would be up for just piano and vocal, or maybe to make it broader just one instrument and vocal?

Post

Sure, guitar and vocal works too

Yes I think we do "one instrument and vocals"

I’m not a fan of one instrument and vocals.
First off, it’s boring to hear a song without bassline and drums.
Then the problem of a guitar not having enough low end.
Could we do something like a small jazz or pop combo band or something?
Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

It’s not necessarily boring - there are artists that have sold millions of records that recorded just one instrument and vocals - Bob Dylan, Elton John, Simon & Garfunkel, etc.

Doesn’t have to be guitar, and not sure that lacking extreme low frequencies is a problem. Piano and vocal as wags suggested, or other combos i.e.

Single one instrument or multiple one instrument?

I mean, is vocals & stylophone quartet OK?
25 instances of OnePingOnly?

Post

do the vocals have to be human?

Do they even need to be sung? They could all be samples, or manipulated samples, or someone could go grab Stephen Hawking's speech synthesizer from the dumpster out back of Cambridge University...

One instrument does not necessarily mean just one instrument one time, you can use the same instrument several times as long itis only one instrument and not 8 instruments in one.
