And there are plenty Phasers around. But...they all give a different sound.
Generally a Phaser shifts/changes/modulates the relative phase of multiple signals, often using an LFO as the modulation source. Very much like a Chorus modulates the relative pitch (causing cyclic phase shifts).
Generally the output is determined by:
- the amount of signals/stages
- the amount of modulation (phase shift, generally LFO modulated)
- the rate of modulation (generally LFO rate)
- stereo phasers may also offer spread
