I'm curious if there are any plans for more resynthesis modes. "Pitch Splice" sounds cool, but I wonder how it sounds with longer and more chaotic source material + all the nifty spectral warping modes he's been developing.

I don't know what you're on about Helm was one of the best free plugins, at that it was mainly an entry synth for game devs and beginners so it did it's job well
Next time, try and read what my signature says. People like different things.
On an objective level, it's a pretty good entry-level synth.

Agreed, Helm is far from terrible.

Really looking forward to Vital, it looks like a lot of fun.

Well, Helm is helping my students on their first steps on sound design for videogames. My students replicated the Super Mario Coin iconic sound last week and they will be making a few R2D2 bleeps next Thursday. Its amazing ability to modulate almost anything with anything, and the huge amount of visual feedback makes it a fantastic learning tool.

If Vital is released before October, it will be our synth of choice for the next year.

We are incredibly lucky we have such a tool available for free.

It looks like it could be a lot of fun to play around with.
Take care

I ask as it would be great to be able to use the GUI as a control surface.
Would be great if I can modulate several parameters simultaneously.

Looks great!
Heck, they must be ready by now to release Vital!

That is a really old video from an early beta and that's not how vital looks anymore and the feature set is different.

^^^
it looked good to me.
I liked the feature set and the making of wavetables.
Is there a more current video?

Looking forward to the release of Vital!
ETA?

Will it be multi-touch capable?

Post

I've been working a lot on finalizing the UI and features. I'll probably have a video when that's all done.
Not sure multi touch will work, don't have something to test with atm.

Will be looking forward to the Video and the release of Vital!

If you are using Juce than it is multi-touch capable automatically.
It would be great if it is multi-touch friendly.
Bigger buttons or a bit more widely spaced.
Usually prefer vertical finger motion rather than horizontal.

Would be great to use the GUI as the control surface.
Ah, to be able to modulate several parameters simultaneously.

On my signature check out my studio with the 23" multi-touch monitor and the iPad which is also MT.

Will Vital have stochastic, probability and logic based mod sources?

Post

Five days and “soon” means more than a year...
But Sumu is worse...

I vote for a feature freeze. No more suggestions!

Will this be free like Helm?

And for those wondering, this new synth will be open-source and pay-what-you-want like just like Helm.-Matt Tytel
