Yep. Bombastic narrow area around M.
Wider works ok, no need to go to extreme settings, just a bit of it is usually enough for our projects

Good advice. And something that been weird to me about this topic: people always somehow want perfect 'mono compatiblity', while all natural real world stereo recording isn't perfectly mono compatible, so in theory most online people around here prefer fake-stereo. Not that I would say that either one is better (it depends on the material and I use both).MogwaiBoy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 5:21 am This is a tricky one for me because over the years I've come to realise that nothing sounds as good, natural and wider than just some really good selection and placement. For example, instead of taking a mono hi-hat sample and "stereoizing" it, most of the time it's better to just pan it to one side and then use other things (on the other panned side) to get more natural width.
Often the very best "stereoizer" is simply a fantastic reverb on a mono source.

The NUGEN stereoizer surprised me by becoming my favorite widener so far. Previously it was the one in ozone. It can widen without obviously changing the frequency balance and sound quite natural, as well as giving a lot of control.

Hello, the free version called 'upstereo' and is quite old now, being only 32 bit - I'm thinking of updating it at some point.
The free version has quite a lot of phasing problems, but some people still like it, so I've kept it up on the site.

I sent the link of this thread to QuikQuak developer. Hope he consider fixing the site to be less confusing.Calenberger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 6:36 pmMy fault, (only) the pro version is 64bit.thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 5:47 pmYes as download: https://www.quikquak.com/download_UpStereoPro.htmlCalenberger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 5:46 pmBut not as download...thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 5:42 pm From the linked page:quickquack wrote: * 64 bit versions in VST, VST3, AU and AAX formats
