here is a list of all the hardware I used to own.... its not relevant but I feel the need to list it at least once a week

The patches of Kevin heavily rely on using Velocity and the Modwheel for expression/modulation and only few other sound designers seem to be at the same level as he is. He was/is even working with Hans Zimmer.

FWIW I created 206 patches so far and AFAIK around 200 are using aftertouch...
Those where i did not use it it does not make much sense like e.g. a Kick drum and other drum sounds.
I would not even buy a MIDI controller without AT and a hardware synth must be really outstanding for me to tolerate lacking AT (last one was an ESQ-1 that i sold this year while this could receive aftertouch via MIDI).
