Remember recently when it was asked why every thread becomes the Bones show? Your response was something like they're jealous of my #1 record (quick poll: who knows anything about that, follow up: who actually cares). A big part of the actual reason is how frequently you call people you disagree with idiots. If you could manage to express your otherwise well thought out opinions, without calling other people names in the process (calling each other names is what children are supposed to be taught not to do), then you wouldn't get the attention you do. Because once the flaming starts, a back and forth ensues, then the whole thread becomes about the flaming, with people piling on on both sides. Then it's the Bones show. Or the whoever vs. whoever else show. And yes, I realize this post is an example of that. Not lost on me. Anyway, it's a form of trolling. It's like you're looking to force a reaction out of people, trying to start a flame war, while claiming "hey, I'm not off topic, I'm talking about the product so and so is just an idiot." Now, if the goal is to get attention by being controversial and sounding like a tough guy, then whatever. No one wants their forum full of that either. It's best for everyone when those posts are deleted and not engaged with. If everyone was allowed to come here and behave that way, this place would be awful.BONES wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 12:05 pmIt is hardly black and white. I probably call 10 people a day an idiot to their face and nobody takes offence, ever, but if you even suggest something like that here, everyone acts like you kicked their dog. That's because I live in the world of adults, people capable of taking criticism on board, learning from it and growing, while around here people act like the kinds of children who cry when they drop their ice cream onto the footpath. They seem to have no coping skills whatsoever, like this is some kind of sheltered workshop. That, quite rightly, is their problem and the Mods should not turn it back on someone who is not acting unreasonably, simply because someone is upset.Vortifex wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 11:44 amThis is usually the language of people who lack social skills, and of bullies who won't accept the consequences of their actions. They will criticise objection to their behaviour, as if they are blameless and everyone else is at fault. Low emotional intelligence types who complain about 'snowflakes' and who tell depressed people to cheer up. It's good to try and not be that kind of person.
And those people you call idiots to their face 10 times a day? Maybe they know you. My friends can call me an idiot. But we've never met. Some rando on a forum calling a bunch of people he never met idiots deserves to have his posts deleted because that type of trolling turns every thread into a sh*tshow. Whether it's you, AnX/Krim, me, or anyone else. If you got a problem with adhering to the rules: go start up your own forum with different ones.
