Arturia is pretty bad at this IMO. It's like, "ok, CS80, gotta be a simple Blade Runner brass patch here and...wait, is there?" But then you'll get the factory patches (where there were some), followed by a lot of tricked out, over the top, patches that are slathered in crazy modulators and their (IMO) bad effects. I know some of their patch designers are here, and there's some good stuff in some of those banks, but I'd grade Arturia's overall patch design a C-. The Legend (only Synapse synth I own) was better. I'd give that a B. Recent U-he products have really stepped up as of late (RePro, Hive). Roland actually does a pretty decent job of finding the balance between classic presets and usable modern patches.
