I see.AnX wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 7:43 pmthey do, but some ppl (ie you) don't like them, so maybe some ppl should make an effort to learn how to program their own sounds, then maybe they wouldn't come across as whiny bitches on public forumszvenx wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 7:33 pm Yes Master Anx.
Programming is just not some people's come of tea, whether that fits in with your ethos or not.
Fortunately since many/most synth developers accept that, they sell their products with presets.

Famous to you. I've never heard of these nor do I have a desire to:Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 6:59 pm The sounds I described are the iconic Minimoog sounds heard in the songs that made the synth famous.
The point I'm making is that "classic" sound may mean different things to different people.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 6:33 pm (think Madonna's first two records, West End Girls bass, etc.), Dr. Dre's The Chronic synth basses and the triangle gangsta lead sound
I've never spent one second trying to make The Legend sound like anything else but the best it can be. The past doesn't concern me in the least bit. Dumbing down The Legend to old MiniMoog sounds holds no appeal for me.
So different strokes for different folks since we all listen to different styles and types of music. The Factory patches are not likely to ever please everyone and that goes for any synth.
We've seen it already with OBsession too with the "Jump" patch. Some have called it a horrid sound from a horrible song and others expect it to be included in the Factory Bank.....

I have Monark and I don't like the sounds it comes with..they feel totally "Overcooked" to be honest there are much nicer Moog type sounds in the user library for other Minimoog emus in the reaktor Library.. I really Like the Legend.. it has a colour of sound that speaks to my sonic palate

Sound aesthetics (like any aesthetic) is always personally. Nothing wrong with that.surreal wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 7:57 pmI have Monark and I don't like the sounds it comes with..they feel totally "Overcooked" to be honest there are much nicer Moog type sounds in the user library for other Minimoog emus in the reaktor Library.. Like I said I love the sound of Monark. Alas I don't quite enjoy going thru reaktor however.

That is true and it holds true for any synth!! The point is what do you do with what you have, the only value in any synth is the usability to you as a muso... I personally am not nostalgic of emulations but rather I enjoy what sound I can get out of it!! That is why I am looking forward to Obsession.. and no I won't be doing any Jump Riffs nor Tom Sawyer stabs...zvenx wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2020 8:03 pmSound aesthetics (like any aesthetic) is always personally. Like I said I love the sound of Monark. Going thru reaktor to me is such an unnecessary work flow 'interruptor' for me.
