The trouble with these "classic" synth patches is as soon as you use them, unless you're a cover band, people are gonna go "Oh, that's Jump" or that's "Tom Sawyer" or whatever and that's all you're gonna hear.

Naturally, all this depends on what it is you're doing and how much you care about what other people think.
