Why can't they make something of this quality for singing?

Except with Melodyne you still have to do the singing yourself.

Maybe. Probably a hell of a lot of work. For one thing, to get the words to line up with the notes just right (depending on BPM, syncopation, etc.) you probably have to do a lot of moving around of each individual word. Right now, going by the demo, it appears to be straight rhythm with no control over pauses and tempo. Then, after you've moved each word to where it belongs, you then have to adjust each note. Then, if there are any ties (notes that slur from one note to another) you have to find a way to split the word up so that it sounds natural going from say G to F#.
No thanks.

And then you have things like vibrato, trills, and other vocal techniques which aren't in spoken speech. So you're still limited to what you can do even WITH all that work. It won't sound like a singer.

There is a 'speechelo' that can actually sing, it's called Vocaloid.http://www.vocaloid.com/en/ (http://www.vocaloid.com/en/)

It's alright. I can still hear the artifacts of generated speech. The biggest problem I have with all of these sites is that they are all cloud based and you can't tell who's behind them and so you really have no idea how long they will be in business.
You can use melodyne and friends on these voices. (not so) Pro-tip: Download all of the foreign voices for their speech to text and apply them to English text. It ranges from somewhat convincing to hilarious.

Since that was your first post here I'll give you a little tip. When tempted to dig up a year old thread at least do a search. In this case you would have learned that Wagtunes is a long time Vocaloid user and it would have saved you from having to necro a thread:freddy-a wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 5:18 pm There is a 'speechelo' that can actually sing, it's called Vocaloid.
