I used the Korg official Triton VST, Wavestation VST, M1 VST, and Sound Canvas VA for the quack solo (found the sound finally it’s just a SC-55 tenor sax with modified cutoff, resonance, and attack).
Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

I would love to hear what the original sounds like so I can compare the two.

There's this video game I used to play years ago. I don't remember the name of it but it had these 4 Japanese characters running in a line from one scene to another trying to do something. I never did finish it because I could never figure out what I was supposed to do. But the music reminds me of this song. It was without a doubt one of the cheeziest video games I'd ever played.

Ah, just remembered the name of it. Sorcerian.

Here it is

They definitely used more SC sounds (like the solo is layered with a SC-55 bagpipe and a modified heavily tenor sax patch).

Listened to both back to back. What makes the original a little less "I don't even know how to describe this stuff anymore" sounding is basically 2 things.

1. The vocals. They greatly distract from the cheesy music which helps a lot, even if the vocals themselves are a bit cheesy.

2. The playing is a little less quantized and the arrangement a little less rigid. It has a more "human" feel.

Sonic wise, they are very close. The original just sounds less robotic. Not a lot less, but a little. It isn't music I'd want to listen to on a regular basis. I'm simply just not the audience for it, though as I said before, I do like a lot of K-Pop and J-Pop. But this stuff, I don't know. Makes me feel like I'm in a carnival waiting to get jumped by some deranged clown.
