Here's a useful Youtube video about getting rid of unwanted background noise using VSTplug filters [$5 - $10 USD] (and also the JB isone pro [free]).

Sounds terrible. Is it a joke? There are better tools out there which do not destroy the original sound...

The VSTplugins com in both 32 and 64 bit. I'm not sure if the OBS software can handle more than that.

I think it's better sound

Honestly, I've tried many gates and there is nothing that can keep up with this. I have most of the products, voxengo, th3, the guitar amp sims and many other popular gate softwares and nothing gets close. I suppose though, I could make an option that does not apply so much sonic treatment and maybe sounds more digital.

That's very possible and I will add it to My list of things to do. TH3 for instance (and most other gate softwares) has clicks and the release can not be altered. And what do you do when you cannot affect the release. I think most gate products lost sight of this. If there is no control of release; it's useless as a background noise filter.

It adequately removes room noise however. If you think there's better, make a video and maybe we can have some kind of competition. it sounds fun; I could compare products. You just tell me the product name and I will make the video comparing both. Just let Me know :)

------
However, I'm starting to like the idea of making a more advanced version of this with an EQ and adding the functionality of all 3 products together. Any original customers of the vocal gate spoken would be entitled to the additional version which would be included. It would be labelled as ++. It would have gain, EQ, ceiling limiter, Mean averaging ceiling clip prevention, compression and room virtualization.

Here's another promo of the same plugin with maybe a less destructive style of using this plugin, without the JB isone pro:
https://youtu.be/uMrAZvOwmwU

And I drop the challenge if your software gate works better than mine, I'll help to prove it, email Me; drop Me a PM and I'll prove that I need to improve My software :)

Edit: And here it is with the ZDF de-plosive plugin:

lol, thumbs down from competitors I guess, lol.

Especially that noise of a fan is easily removed with a spectral gate. Search for denoiser. You record a noise print and the spectral gate removes only those parts in the spectrum below the threshold of your noise... A common technology since more than 20 years... Soundhack can do that for example or a million commercial plugins...

Well, I had tried that; but often they do not work realtime and have a latency. It's a good idea, but I needed to make something that worked for those who stream online live :).

This gate however, uses three gates in tandem with a de-harsher and two assemblies for attack and release that operate independently due to the pre and pro differences. Unless it was a trick of something else like mapping, it's hard for Me to guess that there could be a better option; and spectral is just a simple process; it's the same as crossover; same meaning with a fancy word albeit. My gate also uses a spectral mapped gate, twice over in fact.

I like other gates, but quite often they are not designed for a loud environment and are better suited to studios. It's sad that so often companies forget that we have loud computers, that we have loud rooms that are not sonic ally sterile. I remember that being the biggest hump I'd needed to surmount since deciding to record audio. It's hard to believe how expensive quiet hardware is.

Here's a new youtube video showing what i did with vocals and the VSTplug vocal gate - spoken:
And like I said, it'd help if you're a better singer than I am :D.
I used supermassive by valhalla, free; quite a nice product.

I tried reaper and really like it. I still need to buy a license though. I'd probably use it and Acoustica Mixcraft 9 as My main products. I like the color of the old FL 10, FL 11 is fine too; but I notice the 64 has a few bugs. That was actually the first 64 bit one, but it's not as stable as 20. I like 20 but it has a severe coloring.

edit: Keep in mind, that when playing around with OBS menus like filters and so on (when recording) it causes the signal and volume to go funny, no avoiding that so bear with Me.

Here's a rap track I put together using the same setup:
https://youtu.be/pwkKOGpRFNk

And audacity, yeah it is useful but it sounds like old tape, but that can be good too.

iZotope RX Spectral De-noise in fast mode. I use it all day for live meetings with a Yeti Blue. Low latency. Works fantastic.

RX7 should be the very best for this, especially the Advanced Version. I also heard good things about Brusfri, but never tried that one, myself.

Hmm, yeah; they're not bad but really the sound is about the same ultimately. I guess right now there's no substantial "better" right now.

I really like the Klevgrand compressor, it's the best one I've heard in the way of a unique sound. I wouldn't use it for everything, but would be boss for getting the finish for youtube videos perfect.

I guess My price is the only huge difference, I suppose if I put in the work and made the de-harsh unit optional, made the color digital smooth and then furthermore added a way to bring the volume to the original levels then that would be a game-changer. If then, beyond that; artificial room fx and mid side to avoid phase that'd be something. Sigh* a lot of work.

I'll get on it, but I need to release a free 8 band parametric EQ within the next few days. probably sunday, monday. thanks for the ideas :).

RTX Voice is a good example of how effective software can be in removing the background noise without distorting the voice.

Hmm, that's impressive; I think mine wouldn't have the same strange effect on the sound though because of the architecture, however, there would be a few aliases here and there, so; similar but different. Nice example thanks.

Here's My latest video with the same ceiling fan being really loud. It sounds more polished. I've now developed a system.
