Anyway. Yet to see any children in clubs. Other than kids in their 20s, of course.
youd think so.
but i was clubbing at 15. my gf was 14.
going to gigs on my own (well with friends but no adult supervision) from 11 or so.

also, how bloody old are you?
i used to go the hammer and pincers after church on a sunday, from as young as i remember.
there was a beer garden and a lounge room.
we where not allowed in "the bar" but the lounge was where we played music. old folk and young uns jamming old irish folk songs :)
Well don’t forget I grew up in Australia where it’s still 1979. So when I was a kid in the late 70s/mid 80s it was the 40s.

You’re right though, the introduction of gastropubs is when it changed.

And Wetherspoons is probably the kind of place that should be. Have you seen their carpets? I was in one in Cambridge where the manager gave us some old rum that wasn't on the menu. Tasted like carpets. Whatever it was. Carpet water mixed with cleaning fluid. It got us drunk. Well, me more than my buddy.

Maybe depends on the club. I remember getting into some really shit places at 14/15. I always and still look quite a bit younger than I am so I had to hide myself and could never get drinks. Usually our tallest friends would go to get the drinks.

Now I'm old, I puff my pipe
But no-one's there to see
I ponder on the lesson of my life's insanity

I couldn’t help but think he shares more attributes with an animal than a human.
Humans are animals.
We've long searched for a distinctive feature but there isn't any.

Also, "shit dribbling" is in most of our futures. One day someone may be watching you in horror.

Walked all the way to the charity shop in worn out shoes to buy a new pair and they had precisely none in my size.
