I think I've a pretty good grasp of creating chord progressions, and am Ok at vocal melody. But one thing I struggle with now is vocal rhythm.
How many syllables are appropriate for the 1st line of the verse, compared to the 2nd line.
I know producers like Max Martin are very strict on syllable count for example. He likes first syllable of important words to fall on beat1 or beat3 of the bar.
Anyone know of a good Youtuber that teaches this, or other resource?
Actually I could improve at vocal melody too, but I've advanced in that. Its just rhythm: how many words in each line and where they fall for maximum impact.
Any good resources that teach "vocal rhythm" (syllable counts etc.)?

All the producers i watch basically mess around with options until it sounds good. I saw a porter robinson video the other day, he worked on a song progression for months. There is no set rules, make 10 versions and pick the one that resonates most. That type of practices builds instincts.
