JUCE was around 15 years ago. Not as popular or full featured, but the core of the framework was there. I'm still working on the same JUCE App I was working on 15 years ago (with a 5+ year break in the middle).

Fx modulation has gone bonkers in a good way... Check out unfiltered audio products. BYOME and TRIAD are amazing. LION is a cool synth but needs another filter.

Some amazing new developers have entered the game : TAL , Valhalla etc
Renoise is still the nr. 1 tracker .
