1) How many notes do you use to write the main / hook melody?
2) How long are your main melody sequences usually?
3) How many chords do you usually use on a whole track?
4) What is the best key/scales for club music in your opinion and are there any key/scales to avoid?
5) If I use the scale for example - D minor, can the kick be in the G (G is a note from the D minor scale)?

I know - the questions are a bit strange, a bit obvious, but the longer I stay in the genre, the more similarities I notice, so I ask you how you think. For example, most of the arpeggios are on the 1st, 5th and 6th degrees of the scale. Most sequences are 4 bars long. On average, producers use 4 notes in their leads.
I just noticed that when I start using more than 4 notes I get over the melody stacking and everything starts to get too sweet and naive. So I think the key to creating emotional and dark melodies is for example having a fixed note limit.
