Adding subwoofer, any adjustments to current monitors needed?

Hello,

I use Dynaudio BM5a monitors and have been clueless on my low end when monitoring at a low level. I have decided to add a subwoofer to my setup.

Do I need to do anything to the current monitors to welcome in the new low end frequency response? There are EQ switches on the back of the BM5a monitors, should I roll off the low end on my BM5As and just have the Subwoofer handle all those frequencies down there?

I am monitoring through the old Presonus Monitor Station.

Thanks

There are (lots of) subwooofers that have cross-overs and outputs for your regular midrange monitors where the lows are filtered out for balance.

Read the manual that comes with the sub. It should tell you if your satellite's need adjusting (and how to do it).
