A quick update:
The new version of Boost includes some new features including those requested on the forums:
- Text entry on double click
- Limiting algorithm now goes to even smaller release values for punchier and cleaner results.

Getting back to this, getting a lot better sound out of my limited setup with it, very excellent and useful maximizer. :tu:

Stupid Question 1:
How does one set a default size?
I drag it to how I like it, even save it as a Default in Cubendo, but every new instance goes back to the same original default size.
Is this a demo limitation or is this how it works?

Not a stupid question at all; turns out I'm not saving the size in the properties file. I promise I'll fix that in an update soon.
I also need to make sure that the user doesn't make it bigger than the screen...

Ahh thanks...... since I have your attention sort of..

I also found it too easy to accidental touch the input value.....and no I am not that clumsy :), but it seems to have a large area around the slider that will allow you to move it. a lock would be nice I am thinking :).
Also I am not sure if it is the demo version but I was trying it on a track and regardless of what release value I set, it seem to be bypassing part of the loop, and clipping..... (hope that makes sense)

re: input, try holding ctrl for acurate adjust mode, I'll probably change that to a menu toggle option at some point as I think quite a few people prefer relative (gentle) rather than absolute (snap to) type motion on sliders.

There's a draft video here that might help:
I'm not 100% happy with the video (especially the compressed audio quality) so I'm going to redo it when time permits, but hopefully that gives you an insight on how to get good results.

I sent you three emails at support @ deviousmachines. com with examples. I am not sure i am using it incorrectly.
It only happens with material that has 808 styled kicks and or basses....

I also did a 8 bar drum and bass reggae, and it handled that fine...

Also Vimeo allows better quality Audio.

Re: INput..... if I click anywhere on the left panel with my house it jumps input to that value... so I can't accidentally click anywhere there, or even if my mouse is not over the slider, and I use the mouse wheel, even two inches above the slider arrow (if the GUI is open big enough) the mouse wheel can change the input value (same thing with output.

But hopefully this screenshot may help describe my point easier.
I expect the red area to be the clickable area, but the yellow area is clickable, so if I am accidentally over there whilst using the mouse to click or mousewheel it alters my input or output level.

Hi Zvenx,
Thanks for your detailed posts.
I understand what you're saying about the input areas for the sliders. As they work in absolute mode that area needs to be clickable to jump to that point. When I add the relative mode I'll see about only making the thumb clickable which should work more in the way that you expect.

Regarding clipping, I suspect that you are using a DAW that shows Inter Sample Peaks on the main meter. ISPs are not something that Boost 1.1.32 addresses however they are something I want to add once I find the right solution, however this is a complex subject. Please be assured that the absolute sample output levels from Boost never go above 0dBFS. You can read more about ISPs here: https://techblog.izotope.com/2015/08/24 ... detection/

Thanks Dave.
I think when you get to hear the examples i sent you may understand better. i am not speaking about 'visual' clips, I haven't even looked at the meters really in the examples I sent. (Cubendo Mac btw)
I could hear the clipping.
